People are now talking with irony about an interview that Joe Biden did with David Letterman back in 2007.
Biden was elected to the Senate when he was 29, he spent virtually his whole adult life in the Senate. So Letterman asked him what it was like, at 29, to walk into the Senate chamber.
Biden said that it actually wasn’t his first time there, that he slipped into the chamber (translate: he trespassed) when he was 21 and that he actually sat down in the presiding officer’s seat, because he was “fascinated by the Senate.”

“In those days, no guards stopping you everywhere. And they just got out of session. I walked in the back, all of the sudden I found myself in the chamber. I was stunned. I walked up, sat down in the presiding officer’s seat, guy grabbed by the shoulder, said: ‘you’re under arrest,’” Biden said.
“Literally nine years later, as I walked onto the Senate floor through the same door, that same guy, cop, said to me, ‘Senator, you remember me?’ I said, ‘geez, I don’t.’ He said, ‘I arrested you nine years ago…welcome back.’
Oh, my, that didn’t age well. Illegally entering the Capitol and sitting in the presiding officer’s seat? Was he with Corn Pop?

But apparently then it was all cool and he was let go?
Now, let’s face it, Joe lies an awful lot. When he’s telling stories like this, they’re probably not true. He’s been busted in a ton of lies in what seems like his century of public life. He even claimed he marched in the civil right movement and claimed he was arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela during the apartheid era in South Africa. None of it was true. He even got embarrassed publicly when he had to drop out of the 1988 presidential race for lying about his background, performance in school and plagiarizing another politician. People know who Joe Biden was and is, they just gave him a pass because they needed to grab back power.
Notice also how much Joe has deteriorated since that Letterman interview, how vibrant he is there in the midst of telling his tall tale, as opposed to now.
Dare we hope that someone in media ask him about this story and he tries to explain it?
