Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene described abortion as “the worst thing” America has ever done Thursday in a speech to the U.S. House.
Two weeks ago was the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that forced states to legalize abortion on demand. As a result, about 62.5 million unborn babies have been legally, unnecessarily aborted in America.
And that death toll grows every day.
Greene, speaking on the House floor, said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve Americans, born and unborn, CNS News reports.
“As a member of this Congress, the 117th Congress: I’m a passionate person; I’m a competitor; I’m a fighter. I will work with you for good things for the people of this country,” she said.
“But, the thing I will not stand for is abortion. I think it’s the worst thing this country has ever committed,” Greene continued. “And, if we are to say, ‘In God We Trust,’ how do we murder God’s creation in the womb?”
Greene acknowledged that no one is perfect, and she needs God’s grace.
“I believe in God with all my heart, and so grateful to be humbled, to be reminded that I am a sinner and that Jesus died on the cross to forgive me for my sins,” she said.
